Healthcare B2B company uses Google Cloud to correct historic Google Analytics data

The Client

A healthcare marketplace that provides a one-stop prescribing assistant for healthcare professionals to research and match pharmaceutical products to their patients based on needs while providing a centralized source for research, education, and sample fulfillment.

The Challenge

The client noticed that reports in Google Analytics displayed odd fluctuations in bounce rate, and a rapid drop in the count of users visiting the site. As a result, investors lost trust in the web analytics data, were unable to measure progress against marketing goals.

Reliable Historic Data

The marketing team is now confident that they are correctly capturing data in Google Analytics, and they can set goals and share progress with customers and investors.

The Solution

The client engaged DiveTeam to audit the current GA4 implementation, identify the cause of the oddly fluctuating metrics, and deploy corrections through Google Tag Manager. After 4 weeks, DiveTeam was also able to resolve the issue and restore historic reporting by modifying the raw data stored in BigQuery to adjust for the tagging issues. A dashboard was created using Looker Studio to showcase the corrected historical data alongside the new data that is continually collected on the site, and the client was able to continue operating as if the problem had never existed.
